The Zombie Room has more twists and danger than a nest of snakes, but lots of excitement and catchy dialogue to boot. R D Ronald has done a fantastic job of weaving an intriguing and compelling plot that slowly reveals itself to us through the backstories of Mangle, Tazeem, Decker and Tatiana. The multi-layered story manages to be complex without straying into convoluted with enough urgency that keeps the pages turning long after it’s time to turn out the light. I’ll certainly be looking for more from R D Ronald in the future, but for now this is one not to miss out on.Tags : The Zombie Room. R.D. Ronald [R. D. Gifted author RD Ronald’s “Zombie Room“ is a visceral journey into the unique and remarkable lives of a few unlikely friends who gallantly overcome their dire circumstances together. Ronald’s lovable, well-described characters pull the reader into the eye-opening reality of their sensually seductive and somewhat sinister lives in a valiant quest for redemption.
“Zombie Room” is an intriguing tale of ethnicity, society and the raw human instincts for life, love and survival. With his impressive talent, Ronald weaves the main characters’ and their families into a multi-generational drama that’s both compelling and classic.
There is also an edgy, science-fiction element to “Zombie Room” that reminded me of epic feature films like “Matrix” and “Blade Runner”, yet this story and setting are gripping, real and ever so present. “Zombie Room” eloquently shows how well intentioned lives impacted by actions in the struggle to survive can cause long-term heart-wrenching, catastrophic consequences.
Only an insightful writer like RD Ronald can create a great and gritty drama filled with crime, compassion and heroics. “Zombie Room” is a modern yet classic story that will open your eyes to another side of life and the power of the human spirit.
The Zombie Room by RD Donald is a high stakes thriller that is very intense with plenty of violence and action to keep readers engaged. The story progresses very quickly with quick plot turns and a fast pace. We follow three ex-cons, Tazeem, Mangle, and Decker, who despite their very different backgrounds are very close. Once out of prison they remain close and become embroiled in the world of sex trafficking. But this involvement is not what the reader may think. A bitter past rivalry is revealed, and Tazeem is compelled to bring down the crime ring through legal means if he can. While this novel does not focus on character development or even a strong plot line, it does serve its purpose of bringing together a substantial mix of crime and action that will not disappoint.
Like plot twists? Like suspense? Like gritty themes and powerful writing? Then The Zombie Room is a novel that needs to find it's way onto your bookshelf. I guarantee you will be sucked in from the very first chapter thanks to believable characters and the promise of turbulent plot that will push these characters to the limit.
Sex trafficking in a delicate subject, and Ronald handles it very well, sympathetic and hard-hitting. There is no glamor for those poor women, only fear and Ronald captures the terror of what waits for these girls in 'Zombie Room' brilliantly. You will be on side with Mangle, Decker and Tazeem as they race to save the girls from a horrible fate, that even if they survive, they will never get over. Once you have started on the journey to the Zombie Room, you won't be able to stop until you get to the end. So be prepared to read in one sitting.
I'm easily pleased when it comes to reading as long as its semi interesting I like multiple genres. I did finish this book, though it was unbearable. up until half way through, it was dragging on with nonsense. No character depth or plot AT ALL. Then I thought "okay, maybe itll get interesting now". It did for maybe 1 chapter then played out to a bland ending with an offered follow up book. Unless Im missing something and it gets good in the next book, i have no idea why so many people enjoyed the book. I cant bring myself to spend money to find out in the next book. Longest time ive spent forcing myself to read on.
The Zombie Room is a coming-of-age story of youth culture, delinquency, criminality, and ultimately murder. Three anti-hero protagonists held to account for their past actions and then confronted by a much more serious situation when they don't learn from past mistakes. Zippy writing that conjured some great visuals. Pretty daring, with some unexpected twists, cleverly sustained dramatics and moments of dark humour.
I enjoyed the storyline and multiple sinister elements and characters. The human trafficking aspect piqued my interest and it also added quite a bit of sex into this gritty story. Lots of vividly written graphic scenes. I like books that take me to seriously dark and sketchy places while sitting comfortably and safely on my couch. The Zombie Room did just that. It is well-written and nicely edited which makes for a smooth read, albeit a dark and frightening one at times. I loved it.
