Take a hawt, reclusive man and throw a mild mannered proper lady at him along with a dash of intrigue, foul play and suspense! Now you have yourself Secrets Argent Springs. The dashing Mr. Devere is the kind of man anyone would want to snare. I was surprised at how mildly he responded to Kate both at his home and back in Argent Springs. Kate must have weaved the perfect web around his heart with her innocence. She only wanted the best for those around her even at the sacrifice of herself. The gentle and surprising twists at the end kept the story and the suspense afloat. While I tried to figure out some of the suspense parts, I was still kept guessing. The story flowed smoothly and kept me reading through the night.
Great story. Fantastic storyline loaded with suspense and intrigue. Two strangers meet and unite to find a missing gem. Many twists and turns without any clear hint to the identity of the actual kidnappers.
Really enjoyed this story. Hooked from the first chapter. Mystery, intrigue, romance, twist and turns. Kate London has to steal a valuable gem from Billionaire Nicholas Devere in order to save her sister whose been kidnapped. Nicholas thinks he's cursed and is not meant to fall in love, especially not with the woman who stole a precious family jewel. As the two work together to find Kate's sister, the chemistry between them ignites. Thank you for the advance copy to review.
I've been devouring Cindy Starks's books for the past few weeks. One series after another. I've thoroughly enjoyed every single one. Each story is different and unique. So far I've loved each character. Very entertaining. A minor inconsistency here and there but nothing that detracts from the story. Crossing my fingers that there are more in the Argent Springs series. Will Kellan have a story? Mrs Stark you have a new fan. Wish I could move to Moose Meadows. Lol

After closing her jewelry store, Kate is accosted and threatened on her way to her car. Her attacker just gave her an ultimatum, one she can't possibly refuse. Give him what he wants or she will never see her sister again.
Nicholas is the proud owner of an exquisite Russian gem that has been in his family for generations. Nicholas is a loner and believes that to be his future. He believes he is cursed and destined to be alone. He is also Kate's mark.
Upon meeting, Kate and Nicholas have instant chemistry. Kate has been hurt by someone she thought she could trust. She's gun shy with men because of it. Her experience changed her completely.
Nicholas has lived through incredible tragedy. He's not willing to let someone into his life with the possibility of it ending tragically, leaving him with more pain and guilt.
Nicholas and Kate have this cat and mouse chase thing going on. He knew just what to say to get Kate to consider a fling with him. Nicholas is sexy, confident and knows how to get what he wants. Kate is smart, sexy and wants a commitment, not just some fling. He needs to keep things light, flirty. He believes in his curse and can't risk Kate's life. But with danger just around the corner, would the curse claim it's next victim?
