I am a great devotee of John Burroughs, one of the early naturalist writers. Most of his book concern his observations as he traveled around New England. Things were very different in the late nineteenth century. This book is very different. In this he attempts to.explain the difference between the living and non-living. ( not living and dead). This is a little hard to read, but it will make you think about life and it's many mysteries. Though I'm not sure I agree with all of his thoughts. However, if we had to agree with everything we read, we would probably never learn anything new or never read anything.
